Although born and raised in Memphis, TN, John Raymond’s first stand-up performances were overseas while serving as a naval officer, the long hours, extended deployments and countless exotic ports of call providing ample opportunity and an abundance of material. Eventually trading the adventurous life at sea for the stability of corporate America, John settled in Tucson, AZ and put his passion for stand-up on hold. However, over the years he continued to find creative outlets, including writing screenplays, appearing regularly as a featured guest on a nationally syndicated radio program, and cohosting a weekly television show. In 2017, lured by the freedom of stand-up, John returned to the stage, where his controversial, “take no prisoners” analysis of the insanity of life and absurdity of social norms has earned both critical acclaim and audience support.
